Thumbnails and poster images

AtomicPlayer poster artwork is configured in Customize → Thumbnail on the video detail page. The current app does not expose separate pause and exit image fields—use Thumbnail for the main poster and Smart Autoplay for pre-play overlay art.

ControlRole
ThumbnailStatic uses the generated poster. Custom uploads a poster. Turn on Enable thumbnail overlay for the poster treatment.
ThumbSniperAuto-tested or variant poster options where shown in the panel.
Smart AutoplaySeparate overlay workflow—see Magic Autoplay.

Change the thumbnail

  1. Open Videos and click your video.
  2. Open Customize → Thumbnail.
  3. Pick Static or Custom. Custom uploads a poster. There is no separate Animated choice; an older animated value is shown as Static.
  4. Set Duration badge if you want the length on the poster. ThumbSniper A/B test stays disabled until at least two generated candidates exist.
  5. Select Save, then Publish to this video. Existing embeds use the stable player ID and do not need to be recopied.

Design tips

  • Keep text legible at 320px width—most traffic is mobile.
  • Coordinate with Smart Autoplay so viewers are not hit with competing overlays.
  • After creative changes, replace embed code or republish Atomicat pages.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my new poster not show on the live page?

Make sure you selected Save and then Publish to this video. Existing embeds resolve the published configuration through the stable player ID.

Where are pause and exit images?
