Watermark

A watermark is a visible text overlay shown over your video. It can reinforce your brand and discourage casual reuse, but it cannot prevent capture.

Where to find it

  • Workspace default — Player Studio → Anti-piracy → Watermark.
  • Per video — a video's Customize tab → Anti-piracy section → Watermark.

Setting up a watermark

  1. Turn on Watermark.
  2. Enter Watermark text.
  3. Choose a corner: TL, TR, BL, or BR.
  4. Set the Opacity so the mark is visible but not distracting.
  5. Save your changes.

Positions

The current configuration supports top-left, top-right, bottom-left, and bottom-right. The default is bottom-right.

Opacity

Opacity is set as a percentage. A lower value makes the mark subtle so it doesn't compete with the content; a higher value makes it harder to crop or ignore. The Studio default is 70%. Pick a level that stays legible over both light and dark scenes.

Per-viewer identifiers

The Anti-piracy panel states that per-viewer identifiers are coming soon and are not exposed until server enforcement exists. There is no Include viewer identifier toggle in the current section. A watermark is brand text only. It does not stamp an email, IP address, or session ID.

Best practices

  • Keep the text short—a brand name or handle reads best.
  • Use the corner opposite your controls so the mark never sits under the scrub bar.
  • Combine the watermark with video protection features like domain lock and hotlink protection for layered defense.

Frequently asked questions

Can I put the watermark anywhere?

No. Choose top-left, top-right, bottom-left, or bottom-right.

Will the watermark cover my content?

Set the Opacity low enough that it stays subtle, and place it in a corner away from your controls and captions.

Can I trace a leaked video to a viewer?

No. Per-viewer identifiers are coming soon and are not exposed. The watermark is the text you type.
