Smart features overview
AtomicPlayer's playback and conversion features include muted autoplay prompts, thumbnails, resume-on-return, accelerated playback, timed hooks, and pitch reveals. Configure them in the Appearance and Conversion groups of Player Studio, or in the Customize tab of one video.
The smart feature lineup
| Feature | What it does | Learn more |
|---|---|---|

How they work together
These features are designed to stack across the viewer's journey:
- Before play — A static, animated, or custom Smart Thumbnail presents the poster.
- First seconds — Smart Autoplay plays muted with a sound prompt; Restart on unmute optionally returns playback to 0:00.
- During the video — Smart Progress keeps the length hidden, Mini Hooks re-grab attention, and Pitch Reveal times the big offer.
- On return — Continue Watching resumes from the last position so a page reload doesn't cost you the view.
Turn on only what fits your funnel. A course video might use Continue Watching and captions but skip the VSL tricks; a sales page might use the full stack.
Smart Pause and Smart Loop
Two lighter behaviors round out the set:
- Smart Pause — If the video was playing when the page becomes hidden, it pauses and resumes when the viewer returns to that page. It does not sync playback state across devices.
- Smart Loop — Sets the video to loop continuously while enabled. It is not disabled automatically by viewer interaction.
Turbo Mode
Open Conversion → Turbo Mode in Player Studio or a video's Customize tab.
- Enable Turbo Mode.
- Choose Manual for a fixed Playback speed, or Automatic to ramp from Start speed to Max speed over Ramp over seconds.
- In Automatic mode, enable Return to 1× at pitch to restore normal speed at the configured Pitch Reveal timestamp.
- Optionally enable Show speed badge.
- Enable Let viewers change speed if viewers may override Turbo speed. When enabled, Re-apply after manual change controls whether their selected speed is remembered.
- Select Save, then Publish defaults for workspace settings or Publish to this video for one video.
Best practices
- Enable defaults in the Studio so every new video starts conversion-ready, then override per video.
- Don't over-stack—too many overlays at once can feel busy. Start with autoplay plus one mid-funnel hook.
- Use A/B tests to confirm each feature actually lifts your numbers before rolling it out everywhere.

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to use all the smart features?
No. Each one toggles independently. Pick what matches your content—VSLs lean on autoplay, fake progress, and pitch reveal; courses lean on captions and continue watching.
Where do I turn these on?
Use the Appearance and Conversion groups in Player Studio, or configure them per video in Customize.
Will the features show on mobile?
Yes, but browsers govern audio—keep autoplay muted so it starts reliably. Always preview on a phone before launch.
