Resume play (continue watching)

In the app UI this is Continue Watching (this article uses resume play as the plain-language name). It lets returning viewers continue from roughly where they left off.

Enable​

  1. Open Videos and click your video.
  2. Open Customize → Continue Watching.
  3. Turn on Enable Continue Watching.
  4. Set the Headline, the Continue button label, and the Restart button label. Returning viewers can resume or start over.
  5. Set Text color, Button background, and Button text color.
  6. Select Save, then Publish to this video. Existing embeds use the stable player ID and do not need to be recopied.

When it helps​

  • Multi-session webinars or chapterized VSLs.
  • Remarketing traffic that returns later.

When to keep it off​

  • Compliance requires every view to start at 0:00.
  • A/B tests where you must control exactly which section each visitor sees.

Privacy note​

Resume behavior uses browser storage or player-managed persistence. Mention cookies or local storage in your privacy policy when required.

Does resume sync across devices?

Typically no—storage is per browser profile. Treat it as a convenience on the same device.

Does Continue Watching conflict with Smart Autoplay?

They solve different problems. Preview both first visit and return visit flows on a staging page.
