Magic Live Streaming
Magic Live Streaming in marketing refers to a simulated live feel on pre-recorded video—social proof such as viewer counts or urgency cues. It is not a replacement for a true RTMP / HLS live broadcast.
What the app shows today
The current AtomicPlayer app does not expose a Magic Live Streaming toggle in Customize, Player Studio, or Settings. You cannot turn simulated live chrome on or off per video from those screens in this build.
Use these surfaces instead for real live data:
- Home dashboard — Watching now and related live counters on the performance strip.
- Analytics → Live — concurrent viewers, top live videos, and live engagement for your workspace.
- Videos library — some cards show a live viewer badge on active assets (decorative indicators in the prototype).
Compliance
Simulated live indicators can be regulated or disallowed by ad networks. Before any merchandising that implies a live broadcast:
- Run copy past legal and compliance.
- Prefer transparent language when platforms require it.
AtomicPlayer documentation cannot give legal advice; treat simulated live claims as high risk until your counsel approves them.

Frequently asked questions
Where do I turn on Magic Live Streaming for a video?
There is no per-video toggle in Customize or Studio in the current app. Use Analytics → Live to monitor real concurrent viewers.
Does Watching now change embed behavior?
No. Dashboard and library live indicators are for monitoring; they do not change how the embedded player renders on your site.
